House Dems mock GOP after tax bill vote

House Democrats mocked Republicans after the lower chamber passed legislation to overhaul the tax code on Thursday, implying that they would pay for the vote at the ballot box.

House Republicans had started to clap after the tax-reform bill received enough votes to pass when Democrats joined in and sang “na na na na, hey hey, goodbye.”

Democrats mockingly sang the same song, “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Good Bye” in May when House Republicans passed their ObamaCare repeal-and-replace legislation, which later died in the Senate.

The tax measure, a long-awaited GOP priority, was approved by a vote of 227-205.

Thirteen Republicans in the House voted against the tax-reform legislation, and no Democrats voted in support of the bill.
