Dem: It’s ‘pretty funny’ Nunes is paying for ‘alternative news’ site to attack me
Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) mocked Rep. Devin Nunes, saying the California Republican is paying for an “alternative news” site to attack him.
“This is pretty funny. Rep @DevinNunes is now PAYING for a fake ‘alternative news’ site to…attack folks like me,” Lieu tweeted.
“Hey Devin, feel free to call me names because I’m cool like that,” he added.
“But at least I actually read underlying documents before writing memos based on those documents.”

{mosads}Nunes’s campaign has created its own news site, which claims to put out “the best of US, California, and Central Valley news, sports, and analysis.” The site, called “The California Republican,” is paid for by Nunes’s campaign committee, Politico reported.
One of the blurbs on the site is headlined: “Dem CA Rep roasted on CNN, proceeds to make a fool of himself.”
Nunes, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, is a frequent critic of the media.
He was last thrown into the spotlight this month for leading the charge to release a GOP memo drafted by his staff that alleges surveillance abuses at the Justice Department.
President Trump last week blocked the release of a Democratic memo meant to rebut the claims in the Republican-crafted document.
