The ceremony, broadcast in the U.S. in the early hours of Saturday, transformed Harry into the Duke of Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton and Baron Kilkeel, and Markle the Duchess of Sussex.

The wedding was celebrated in England and throughout the world, and a handful of U.S. lawmakers joined in as well, sending the newlyweds well wishes.

“What a wonderful message of love, inclusion and faithfulness from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the #RoyalWedding,” Rep. Kathy Castor (D-Fla.) tweeted.

“I am a Royal Watcher! Up to witness the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan! It’s official!! Amen,” Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Ala.) wrote.

“Congratulations to Prince Harry and former California 37th District resident Meghan Markle!” Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) tweeted.

“I hope Meghan’s bold activism and Harry’s rebukes of racist attacks against her foreshadow a bright future for the couple. I wish you both (and mom!) all the best!”

Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.) joked that USA’s “Suits” appeared to be “on EVERY channel” on Saturday, a reference to Markle’s former role on the television show. A number of her former co-stars attended the wedding

“The season finale of @Suits_USA is on EVERY channel. I missed a few episodes, what happened to Mike?” Hudson tweeted.
