Paul Ryan releases ‘teaser trailer’ about series on push for tax reform
Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) office on Monday released a trailer for an upcoming series focused on his efforts to pass tax reform.
The 59-second trailer sets up the premise of “Decades in the Making,” a docu-series set for a Dec. 18 release focused on Ryan’s years-long effort to pass tax reform that culminated with the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
From the first day I came to Congress, I’ve been fighting for comprehensive tax reform to keep America competitive. It’s a cause that has been decades in the making. pic.twitter.com/8Qo2GzadUC

{mosads}The trailer features clips of Ryan and his colleagues discussing tax reform, intercut with footage of the Speaker working in his office and meeting with constituents. Among those appearing in the video are former Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas), who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee.
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed Congress a year ago without a single Democratic vote. Critics of the law argued it would explode the deficit and disproportionately benefit corporations and wealthy individuals.
Ryan is retiring from the House next month after opting not to seek reelection. He joined the House in 1999, and has served as Speaker since 2015.
He will deliver a farewell address to the House on Wednesday.
