Malinowski’s home state of New Jersey passed a law last month to allow electric scooters to be regulated like bicycles, so people do not need to obtain licenses to use them, according to the North Jersey Record. {mosads}
Lawmakers in Illinois, meanwhile, are looking to regulate scooter use. The State Journal-Register reported last month that State Rep. Marcus Evans Jr. (D) was sponsoring legislation to require drivers of low-speed electric scooters to be at least 16 or have a driver’s license, instruction permit or other form of state identification.
