Pelosi on Gohmert testing positive for COVID-19: ‘I’m so sorry for him’
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday said she was sorry to hear that Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the day.
“I’m so sorry for him,” Pelosi told MSNBC’s Garrett Haake.
“But I’m also sorry my members, who are concerned, because he has been showing up at meetings without a mask and making a thing of it.”
She added: “Hopefully now he will look after his health, and others’.”

Gohmert tested positive during a screening at the White House before he was supposed to accompany President Trump on his trip to Texas Wednesday.
“The Attorney General will be tested today,” Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec confirmed to The Hill following news of the congressman’s test result.

In June, Gohmert told CNN that “you’ll never see me without a mask” should he test positive for the virus.
The disease has killed nearly 150,000 people in the U.S. and has infected more than 4.3 million people in the country as of Wednesday afternoon.
