Ailes to get miniseries treatment from NY Mag writer
Former Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes will be the subject of the new miniseries by New York Magazine’s Gabriel Sherman.
{mosads}Sherman, who chronicled Ailes’s ouster from Fox earlier this year and wrote the Ailes-based 2014 book “The Loudest Voice in the Room,” will provide all the source material for the script.
The Hollywood Reporter reports the miniseries will be largely based on the 76-year-old Ailes’s exit from Fox News in July amid sexual assault allegations by several women, including former host Gretchen Carlson.
Jason Blum will be producing the series. Blum is known for horror movies such as “The Purge” and the Emmy Award-winning HBO miniseries “The Jinx,” which chronicled real estate heir Robert Durst and the deaths or disappearances of three people close to him.
Sherman — who was signed as an MSNBC contributor in September — said at a Vanity Fair forum on Tuesday that he would ideally like Anthony Hopkins or John Goodman to play Ailes.
