‘Face the Nation’ wins November ratings race

“Face the Nation” on CBS won the Sunday morning political talk show ratings race for November.

The Sunday show hosted by CBS political director John Dickerson topped the competition with an average of 4.04 million viewers in November.  

{mosads}NBC’s “Meet the Press,” ABC’s “This Week” and “Fox News Sunday” finished second, third and fourth respectively, in a month that included a shocking upset in the presidential election via Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton. 

While Fox’s Sunday show with host Chris Wallace finished in fourth place for the month, it scored its highest rating since 2006 this past week when Vice President-elect Mike Pence sat down for an interview.

Overall, the program registered 5.8 million viewers across four airings on Sunday and early Monday, according to Nielsen Research.

It was the first time Pence had spoken since he went to the Broadway show “Hamilton,” where the actors addressed the vice president-elect directly to express worry over the incoming administration’s agenda.

Ratings for broadcast and cable news almost always drop substantially following Election Day. But Trump’s victory appears to be holding viewer interest as overall ratings across the board have held steady when compared to pre-election numbers.
