MSNBC’s Halperin: Trump’s comments at CIA ‘most disturbing’
MSNBC’s Mark Halperin slammed President Trump on Monday, calling his Saturday speech at CIA headquarters “most disturbing” while confirming “the worst feelings people had” about him taking office.
“I think most disturbing was what the president did at the CIA,” Halperin said during a panel discussion on “Morning Joe” after criticizing White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s contentious press conference on Saturday that mostly consisted of attacking the media.
In his speech, Trump touted the number of people who came to see his inauguration and criticized the media.
{mosads}”People say there’s a good Trump and a bad Trump. It’s the absolute worst of Donald Trump‘s personality.”
Co-host Joe Scarborough — a former GOP congressman from Florida — agreed while noting the lack of experience of those in the Trump administration.
“It could not have gone worse; it could not have been more concerning,” Scarborough said. “They better get somebody in there who has been to this rodeo before.”
Trump had a much more positive take on his own speech, sharing his perspective on Twitter Sunday.
Had a great meeting at CIA Headquarters yesterday, packed house, paid great respect to Wall, long standing ovations, amazing people. WIN!

Former CIA Director John Brennan said in a Saturday statement he was “deeply saddened and angered” at Trump, stating the president “should be ashamed of himself” for speaking about himself too much during his speech in front of a memorial wall honoring CIA officers who have died in the line of duty.
Kellyanne Conway, counselor to Trump, responded to Brennan on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday, telling host George Stephanopoulos that he “sounded like a partisan political hack.”
