‘SNL’ writer suspended for calling Barron Trump the ‘first homeschool shooter’
A “Saturday Night Live” writer has been suspended over a joke she tweeted about President Trump’s 10-year-old son, according to a report.
In a since-deleted tweet, Katie Rich wrote that Barron Trump “would be this country’s first homeschool shooter.”
The backlash on social media was swift, and NBC quickly suspended Rich, according to TVGuide.com, who has been with the program since 2013.
Rich apologized Monday afternoon.
I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I’m so sorry.

More than 79,000 people signed a Change.org petition to have her fired.
