CNN to host Pelosi town hall Tuesday
CNN will host its third town hall of the year on Tuesday night, this time with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
The prime-time event will be moderated from New York City by “State of the Union” and “The Lead” anchor Jake Tapper.
“Less than two weeks into the Trump Presidency, Tapper will lead a timely discussion with Leader Pelosi focusing on the Democratic strategy for the Trump Administration’s agenda,” a press release from CNN announcing the town hall reads. “Additionally, the House Democratic Leader will field questions from audience members from across the country and discuss the major issues facing the nation.”
{mosads}Pelosi is the highest-ranking woman in American history, notes CNN, having served as House Speaker from 2007 to 2011. Republicans won back the House during the midterm elections of 2010.
CNN has also hosted town halls with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) this year. Both telecasts rated higher than their regular prime-time programming counterparts.
The Pelosi town hall will air Tuesday at 9 p.m.
