CNN makes changes to daytime lineup
CNN announced a series of programming changes to its dayside lineup Tuesday, with notable shifts including “Inside Politics” with John King getting a weekday slot at noon ET.
King currently hosts “Inside Politics” on Sunday mornings and has been a longtime fixture on CNN’s political team for 20 years. His weekday program will begin on Monday, Feb. 6.
A CNN source tells the Hill that “Inside Politics” at noon weekdays remains temporary. The weekend edition, which began in 2014, is permanent.
{mosads}The network also added former “Fox & Friends Weekend” host Dave Briggs to its lineup. Briggs, who was most recently with NBC Sports, will co-anchor “Early Start” from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m ET with Christine Romans.
John Berman and Poppy Harlow will co-anchor CNN Newsroom from 9-11:00am, replacing Carol Costello, who moved to HLN.
Former “New Day” morning co-host Kate Bolduan will now be the sole anchor of “At This Hour” at 11:00 a.m.
The changes come as CNN appears to be focusing its overall coverage more on politics after the start of President Trump’s administration.
