Trump deputy adviser Gorka slams former Obama security adviser Rhodes

President Trump’s deputy assistant Sebastian Gorka slammed former Obama Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes on Fox ;on Wednesday, questioning his prior foreign policy qualifications for the job.

“We don’t have a national security team made up of 28-year-old grad school students who have degrees in fictional writing,” Gorka told Sean Hannity during an interview on “Hannity.”

“We have a very serious national security team.”

{mosads}Gorka is referring to Rhodes being a speechwriter for then-Senator Obama in 2007 before his run for the presidency and received his master’s degree in creative writing from New York University. His undergraduate majors were English and political science—a background that earned special attention after a 2016 New York Times Magazine profile on how an “aspiring novelist” joined Obama’s national security team.

Not long after Obama took office, Rhodes, now 39, was named “Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications and Speechwriting.”

Gorka, author of “Defeating Jihad,” and a former Fox News contributor and former National Security editor for Breitbart News, also told Hannity that U.S. “put Iran on notice” and “sent a very clear message” after the Islamic republic recently conducted a ballistic missile launch test.

“We recognize that Iran is not just another country,” said Gorka, a former adjunct professor of U.S. National Security and Foreign Policy at Georgetown University. “It’s not Belgium, it’s not Trinidad and Tobago. It is a state sponsor of terrorism that is destabilizing the region.”

“We have to send a message, and I think the message was sent.”

Gorka echoed the sentiment of Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, who denounced Iran’s test launch on Wednesday, stating it was a “provocative” breach of a UN Security Council resolution. Flynn ended a Wednesday press briefing on Iran by announcing that the country was “on notice.”
