NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ dominates Sunday show ratings

NBC’s “Meet the Press” continued its streak of finishing on top of rival Sunday political shows, beating CBS, ABC and Fox News in total viewers and a key younger demographic important to advertisers, according to Nielsen data.

On Feb. 5, the Chuck Todd-moderated program finished No. 1 with 4.136 million total viewers and 1.236 million in the 25-54 demographic advertisers covet most

CBS’s “Face the Nation,” hosted by John Dickerson, was second with 3.844 million total viewers and 912,000 viewers in the demographic.

{mosads}ABC’s “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos was third with 3.208 million and 864,000 in the demographic, with “Fox News Sunday” hosted by Chris Wallace fourth with 1.605 million total views and 529,000 in the demographic.

“Meet the Press” is the only Sunday morning affairs program to show growth year-over-year this week, up 7 percent from the same time last year and 4 percent in the key demographic.

ABC’s “This Week” has shown the sharpest decline, dropping 13 percent in total viewers and 24 percent in the key demographic since this time last year.

All four of the aforementioned programs featured interviews with Vice President Mike Pence last Sunday.

“Meet the Press” has now captured the top spot in the total viewers and the key demographic in each of the past three weeks.
