Infowars claims exclusive preview of mass-emailed Trump address

The conspiracy theory website Infowars claimed Monday to have received an exclusive sneak preview from the White House of President Trump’s remarks to a joint session of Congress, despite other outlets and reporters receiving the same preview.

“Here’s a point-by-point preview of what the president will address during his speech tomorrow before a Joint Session of Congress, as relayed to Infowars,” reads the story that doesn’t contain a byline. “It should be noted this was not a leak, but was given directly to Infowars.”

Conservative pundit and radio host Erick Erickson immediately pushed back on the Infowars claim. 

“The White House staff mass emailed people the bullet points for the State of the Union.  One site is claiming an exclusive. I got em too,” tweeted Erickson.

{mosads}Multiple outlets are also running the preview of the president’s address, which promises to present a “bold agenda” on tax and regulatory overhauls and save Americans “on the disaster of Obamacare.”

Last month, Infowars’ Alex Jones posted a video claiming the White House offered him credentials.

“Here’s the deal: I know I get White House credentials, we’ve already been offered them, we’re going to get them, but I’ve just got to spend the money to send somebody there,” Jones says in the clip.

“I want to make sure it’s even worth it. I don’t want to just sit there up there like, ‘I’m in the media, look our people are there.’”

But the White House pushed back against his claim.

“He is not credentialed for the White House. The White House Press Office has not offered him credentials,” White House deputy press secretary Sarah Sanders said after Jones made his claim. 

Jones, 42, has accused the U.S. government of being involved in the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 and the September 11 terrorist attacks. He also claims U.S. moon landings were faked and that the government faked the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting using actors.
