CNN features clock counting how long Trump goes without a Twitter attack

CNN is featuring a running clock on its politics Twitter feed that is tracking the last time President Trump has “attacked someone on Twitter.”

The tweet links to a short story explaining the reason why the 37-year-old cable news network has chosen to feature such a clock on a political feed that has 1.67 million followers.

“President Donald Trump won praise from pundits and political allies for his more measured tones during Tuesday night’s address to a joint session of Congress,” the story reads. “At one point in the speech, he even declared that ‘the time for trivial matters has passed.'”

{mosads}”But Trump’s pivot to mellower rhetoric is actually a few days old,” the story continues. “He hasn’t knocked, tweaked or attacked anyone on Twitter since Sunday afternoon, when he claimed, ‘Russia talk is FAKE NEWS put out by the Dems, and played up by the media, in order to mask the big election defeat and the illegal leaks!'”

“We’ll see how long it lasts — literally,” the story ends before showing a running clock marking the last time the president has attacked someone on Twitter.

The count is currently at about 3 days and 7 hours.
Trump has attacked CNN more than any other broadcast news outlet, repeatedly referring to it as “fake news.”
