Former President George H.W. Bush gave former Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes partial credit for his presidency on Thursday, following Ailes’ death at age 77.
“He wasn’t perfect, but Roger Ailes was my friend and I loved him,” Bush tweeted. “Not sure I would have been president without his great talent, loyal help. RIP.”
{mosads}Ailes acted as a consultant to Bush during his 1988 presidential bid, as well as former Presidents Nixon and Reagan. He reportedly helped President Trump with debate prep during the 2016 presidential campaign.
