Bill Maher bets ‘100 rubles’ to ally that Trump is ‘out by Christmas’

Former Trump campaign senior adviser and White House aide Boris Epshteyn took Bill Maher’s bet Friday night of “100 rubles” that President Trump will be “out by Christmas.”

“I think he can be president for eight years,” Epshteyn said on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” prompting boos from the studio audience. “Sorry to disappoint you folks.”

“Why don’t we have a gentlemen’s bet. A 100 rubles?” Maher proposed. “Gentlemen’s bet: He is out by Christmas.”

After Epshteyn agreed to the wager, Maher added, “He looks like he’s trying to get impeached. It looks like he’s admitted obstruction of justice at least twice.”

Epshteyn, who grew up in Moscow before moving to the U.S. at age 11 and later attending Georgetown University, currently serves as chief political analyst at the Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Maher argued that Sinclair is attempting to be “to the right of Fox News,” but Epshteyn – who joined Sinclair in April after leaving a role at the White House – pushed back.

“That’s not true,” he said. ““Fox is a cable channel. “This is different.”

Sinclair, he said, provides its 173 channels across the country with content that’s “straight down the middle.”

“If they hired you as the front man,” Maher retorted, “they’re not straight down the middle.”

“I’m not the front man, I’m the chief political analyst,” Epshteyn corrected.

Sinclair Broadcast Group announced on May 8 that it had reached an agreement to purchase the Tribune Media Company for $3.9 billion.
