’60 Minutes’ repeat beats Megyn Kelly’s show

A “60 Minutes” repeat on CBS drew more than double the viewers of NBC’s “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” in the latter’s second episode since launching earlier this month, according to Nielsen Media Research.

In total viewers, the “60 Minutes” rerun drew 7.9 million, while Kelly’s program featuring an interview with Fox Sports sideline reporter Erin Andrews delivered 3.6 million, down 42 percent from her show’s debut on June 4.

In the 25- to 54-year-old demographic that advertisers covet most, Kelly averaged a 0.8 rating, down 33 percent from last week’s 1.2 rating. “60 Minutes” averaged a 1.1 rating in the category.

{mosads}Kelly’s news magazine is still boosting NBC’s Sunday night ratings in the 7 p.m. block, however, which are up 13 percent in the demographic.

The former attorney and Fox News host is facing backlash on social media after she previewed an interview with InfoWars host Alex Jones that’s set to air on Father’s Day.

The Sandy Hook Promise group also dropped her as a host for its gala later this week over the already-taped interview with the conspiracy theorist who says the elementary school shooting in Connecticut was a hoax.

Nelba Márquez-Greene, whose daughter Ana Grace was one of 20 children killed in the 2012 shooting, scolded Kelly after the host tweeted to her 2.35 million followers that her exchange on the matter with Jones was “riveting.”

“I promise you it’s not riveting,” Márquez-Greene wrote in a tweet that was retweeted by Chelsea Clinton. “How would you feel if someone shot your kids, some fool said it wasn’t true – and I gave him a show?”

Jones, a host on InfoWars.com and a founder of the site, once alleged that the parents of the 20 slain children were actors.

The interview will air on Father’s Day.
