‘Fox & Friends’ to address criticism of Comey coverage that led to Trump tweet
Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” morning show will address its coverage of a report by The Hill on the air Tuesday, Fox News confirmed to The Hill.
“Fox & Friends” has been accused of misinterpreting some aspects of the report.
The address by the morning program comes after President Trump retweeted a “Fox & Friends” report early Monday that former FBI Director James Comey “leaked CLASSIFIED INFORMATION” per the president’s tweet.

Comey admitted in testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee in June that he shared information via written memos about his meetings with the president through a friend at Columbia University to The New York Times.
Trump’s retweet came shortly after the segment aired on “Fox & Friends,” a program the president has publicly praised in the past.
{mossecondads}The show appears to have misinterpreted a Sunday report on The Hill regarding the contents of Comey’s memos.
That report, based on interviews with unnamed “officials familiar with the documents,” stated that “more than half” of the Comey memos contained classified information.
But the same report does not claim that Comey leaked classified information when he leaked his memos through a friend to the New York Times, however.
The Hill report also noted the information “contained information classified at the ‘secret’ or ‘confidential’ level.” But a “Fox & Friends” tweet said the information was “top secret.”

Trump was a weekly guest on the program before announcing his candidacy.
The president abruptly fired Comey in May and has publicly criticized him, primarily through social media.
