Pro-Trump PAC featuring ‘Fight the Fake News’ bumper sticker for $1 donation

A political action committee supporting President Trump and Vice President Pence’s reelection is offering a “Fight the Fake News” bumper sticker, echoing a term Trump uses in his criticism of the news media.

“It’s up to us to get things done and drain the swamp in Washington. I have been listening to the REAL America, and I know you’re with me,” reads the pitch in a fundraising email from the Trump Make America Great Again Committee.

“The Fake News Media is the real opposition,” it concludes.

A bumper sticker from the PAC can be obtained for a donation starting at $1.

Trump has often referred to the media as dishonest, “fake news” and the opposition party as Republicans continue to show less trust in the Fourth Estate.

{mosads}A July NPR–PBS Newshour–Marist poll shows that 91 percent of Republicans and 93 percent of Trump supporters don’t trust the media.

“Fake News story of secret dinner with Putin is ‘sick.’ All G 20 leaders, and spouses, were invited by the Chancellor of Germany. Press knew!” Trump wrote on Twitter Tuesday night after reports surfaced of an undisclosed meeting he had with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a G-20 summit dinner hosted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“The Fake News is becoming more and more dishonest! Even a dinner arranged for top 20 leaders in Germany is made to look sinister!” the president also tweeted.

Neither Republicans nor Democrats trust the news media to provide them with “very accurate” information, according to a survey released Thursday.

The survey from the Media Insight Project reveals that only 31 percent of Democrats and just 8 percent of Republicans said they trust the news to be “very accurate.”
