The usually reclusive Drudge has 518,000 followers on Twitter.
Drudge often cites Rasmussen polls, which have been more favorable to Trump than others. But Wednesday’s daily tracking poll from the firm shows Trump at 42 percent.
{mosads}On June 16, Trump was at 50 percent, according to Rasmussen, which Drudge noted in a tweet that day as well.
“Sound of the atom splitting … coming from Rasmussen, most accurate poll of ’16,” Drudge wrote at the time.
Trump has had a particularly tumultuous two weeks after reports of a June 2016 meeting between his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and a Russian lawyer surfaced and have since dominated headlines. The GOP’s failure to pass its healthcare proposal this week in the Senate only added to the administration’s woes.
Drudge has been relatively more active on Twitter since Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, primarily deriding Republicans on Capitol Hill for Congress’s slow pace implementing GOP legislative proposals.
The 51-year-old Drudge, who always deletes his tweets a few hours after posting them, doesn’t follow any accounts on Twitter.
