‘Morning Joe’ names it ‘Felony Friday’ for Trump

“Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski are continuing their daily mockery of the Trump administration, calling it “Felony Friday” one day after reports emerged that special counsel Robert Mueller has impaneled a grand jury in his investigation of Russian election meddling and possible collusion between Trump campaign associates and Moscow.

“Oh, what is Saturday going to bring? That’s what I want to know, because this has been one hell of a week,” Brzezinski said.

“Do you know what you called last Friday?” Scarborough asked.

“Failure Friday,” she responded. “So what do we call this one? Grand jury Friday?”

“I think, actually — write it down, children — #FelonyFriday,” Scarborough responded. “We have a winner at 6:02. Thank you so much. Have a great weekend.”

“That’s a good one, Joe,” said Brzezinski.

The Wall Street Journal first reported Thursday that Mueller, a former FBI director who was named special counsel on May 17, currently has a dedicated pool of 23 grand jurors charged with examining subpoenaed documents, listening to witness testimony and eventually deciding whether criminal charges in the investigation are warranted.

Legal experts say the decision to impanel a grand jury is fairly typical in these cases.

White House special counsel Ty Cobb said his team will fully cooperate.

“The White House favors anything that accelerates the conclusion of his work fairly,” Cobb said in a statement. “The White House is committed to fully cooperating with Mr. Mueller.”

Scarborough and Brzezinski have continually called Trump a “fake president,” starting just days after his inauguration.

Scarborough implied Trump had dementia in May.

“My mother had dementia for 10 years,” he said. “That sounds like the sort of thing my mother would say today … it’s beyond the realm.”

Scarborough called Trump a “bumbling, bumbling dope” in May and said the president looked like “a kid who pooped in his pants” in June.

Trump, who once had a friendly relationship with the recently engaged pair, has not appeared on the program since May 2016. He has called Scarborough “Psycho Joe” and Brzezinski “Low I.Q. Mika.”
