Cillizza mocks Trump ‘working vacation’

CNN politics-at-large editor Chris Cillizza mocked President Trump for calling his 17-day August stay at his New Jersey golf club a “working vacation.”

“Working hard or hardly working, amirite?” Cillizza asked in a Monday morning tweet in responding to Trump’s tweet.

Trump began the 17-day stay at Trump National Gold Club in Bedminster, N.J., on Thursday afternoon.

The president spoke with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Sunday evening as global tensions with North Korea continue to mount.

“Just completed call with President Moon of South Korea. Very happy and impressed with 15-0 United Nations vote on North Korea sanctions,” he tweeted to his 35.3 million followers.

Trump pushing back on his 17-day trip being characterized as a vacation appears to be a response to those pointing out his criticism of President Barack Obama’s vacations while in office.

The White House said the president has no public scheduled events for Monday.
