Peggy Noonan joins NBC, MSNBC as political contributor
Award-winning Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan has joined NBC News and MSNBC as a political contributor.
Noonan, who served as a speechwriter for former President Reagan and is a frequent critic of President Trump, made her contributor debut on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday.
In a recent column that made waves on social media, Noonan called Trump a “drama queen” while praising the first lady for her “stoicism and grace.”
{mosads}”He’s a drama queen. It was once said, sarcastically, of George H.W. Bush that he reminded everyone of her first husband. Trump must remind people of their first wife,” she wrote. “Actually his wife, Melania, is tougher than he is with her stoicism and grace, her self-discipline and desire to show the world respect by presenting herself with dignity.”
Noonan added that half the president’s tweets show “utter weakness” and called his attacks on the media and Republicans in Congress as “whimpering accusation and finger-pointing.”
Since working in the Reagan administration, the 66-year-old Brooklyn-born Noonan has also written five New York Times bestsellers.
She also recently won the the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for commentary.
