Don Lemon calls Fox News hypocritical after reports of O’Reilly settlement

CNN reporter Don Lemon attacked rival news network Fox News on Saturday after an explosive report from The New York Times revealed that the network extended former host Bill O’Reilly’s contract after he paid out a $32 million sexual harassment settlement.

In a tweet Saturday night, Lemon blasted the network for their “hypocrisy” for lecturing others on “morals & integrity.”

“Brought to you from the network that constantly criticizes other networks on morals & integrity. Hypocrisy much?” Lemon wrote on Twitter, tagging both O’Reilly and Fox News.

The Times reported earlier Saturday that O’Reilly paid out $32 million to longtime Fox News analyst Lis Wiehl in January of 2016 to settle new sexual harassment allegations that weren’t previously reported.

{mosads}21st Century Fox and O’Reilly reached a four-year contract extension worth $25 million in February.

Fox announced in April that O’Reilly would not return to Fox News after the Times reported that five women were paid $13 million to settle sexual harassment suits against the network host.

Former Fox host Gretchen Carlson, who sued Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes in July 2016 over sexual harassment of his employees, reacted to the news earlier Sunday by saying it was “horrifying” that the network would even consider letting him back on the air.

“It’s horrifying to think that any company would dismiss an employee following multiple allegations of sexual harassment and then allow him back on the air a few months later,” Carlson said in a statement on Saturday.
