Fox News fires brother of O’Reilly accuser

Fox News fired one of its foreign correspondents Monday, just days after his sister discussed her sexual harassment allegations against former Fox host Bill O’Reilly on television.

The firing of Jerusalem-based reporter John Huddy came hours after his sister, former Fox News host Juliet Huddy, appeared on NBC’s “Megyn Kelly Today” to talk about her sexual harassment claims against O’Reilly.

In a statement, Fox attributed John Huddy’s firing to “a thorough investigation into a physical altercation.”

“Following a thorough investigation into a physical altercation earlier this month, Fox News made the decision to sever ties with Jerusalem-based correspondent John Huddy. The network’s investigation concluded last week, and due to observation of the Sabbath on Friday, terminated Huddy’s employment this morning,” reads a statement.

Juliet Huddy’s appearance came two days after the New York Times reported that O’Reilly had settled another sexual harassment case for $32 million, the largest sum known to have been paid out in connection with the allegations against O’Reilly.

John Huddy, who has been a foreign correspondent for Fox News since 2014, was also a reporter for WNYW, Fox’s New York City affiliate.

Juliet Huddy was once a Fox News “Fox & Friends Weekend” host and an early morning anchor at WNYW until last September, when she parted ways with the channel.

Their father, John Huddy, was reportedly a close friend of former Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes.

Ailes was fired from Fox News in July 2016 amid sexual harassment allegations, including by former hosts Gretchen Carlson and Kelly. He died earlier this year, in May.
