NRA spokeswoman ends TV show on The Blaze

NRA spokeswoman and conservative commentator Dana Loesch announced on Monday that her Blaze TV program is coming to an end this week after almost four years on the air.

“It’s been a really, really fun time,” Loesch said. “But sometimes good things must come to an end. And so this is going to be my last week here at The Blaze.”

The “Dana” host told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday that the show was ending amicably and wasn’t being canceled.

“I am moving on, all on good terms,” she said.

Loesch, who became the NRA’s lead spokeswoman in February, did not say what her future broadcast plans are.

Last month, Loesch announced that she and her family were moving from their California home “due to repeated threats from gun control advocates.”

The 39-year-old is a frequent guest on Fox News. She also has written two books, including the 2016 bestseller, “Flyover Nation: You Can’t Run a Country You’ve Never Been To.”

The Blaze was founded by former Fox News host Glenn Beck in 2011. The struggling media company announced major layoffs in August, done in an effort to “become more nimble” and “keep pace with the massive changes” in the industry, Beck said at the time.

“Today, we said goodbye to just over 20 percent of the combined workforce of Mercury Radio Arts and TheBlaze,” Beck, also a one-time HLN host, said in an August statement.

“We needed to become more nimble and drastically adjust our approach to keep pace with the massive changes unfolding before us,” he added.

The Blaze, based in Irving, Texas, laid off an estimated 40 employees in 2016.

The Blaze TV is struggling due to a lack of distribution through major cable companies such as Time Warner, Cablevision and Comcast.

The layoffs fell not long after a rocky end to former host Tomi Lahren’s tenure at The Blaze, which came in early May after she and Beck feuded publicly over comments she made about abortion.
