Fox’s Ingraham slams Bush family for recent criticism of Trump
Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Tuesday said “Jeb [Bush] and Hillary [Clinton] should have just run on the same ticket” after slamming the former Florida governor and former President George H.W. Bush for their recent criticism of President Trump.
“Neither Bush, we found out, voted for Donald Trump,” Ingraham said on her Fox News program, referring to George H.W. Bush’s new book revealing that the Bushes did not vote for the president.
“George H.W., in a new book, called Trump a blowhard. One thousand points of insult,” Ingraham continued.
“George W. [Bush] said [Trump] doesn’t know what it means to be president,” Ingraham continued. “He said I don’t like him, I don’t know much about him. This, coming from a guy, a great patriot.”
“Bush 41 and Bush 43, where were you when we needed you during Obama’s two terms? We needed you to speak out against outrages carried out on the American public. ObamaCare, Benghazi — how about when the IRS was targeting conservatives? Where were you when we needed you? Silent, totally silent. Or did we have to read your lips?”
Ingraham went on to note that Republicans have only won elections since 2004 when staunch conservative candidates have run, such as the Tea Party movement in 2010 that helped give Republicans control of the House.
“No amount of grousing by the bitter Bushes is going to change it,” Ingraham said. “The voters are simply not that into them anymore.”
“What I said in February of 2016 and wrote about in my new book turned out to be depressingly accurate. Jeb and Hillary should have just run on the same ticket,” she concluded.
The scathing commentary comes as Nielsen Media Research shows “The Ingraham Angle” averaged 2.72 million viewers in its first week and 529,000 in the key 25–54 demographic advertisers covet most.
MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” averaged 2.25 million viewers and 501,000 in the demographic, while “CNN Tonight,” hosted by Don Lemon, averaged 1 million viewers and 382,000 in the demographic.
