Trump Jr: ‘I won’t hold my breath for an apology’ from CNN

Donald Trump Jr. slammed CNN on Saturday, saying he wouldn’t wait for an apology for the network’s erroneous report claiming that the Trump campaign was given advance notice of a WikiLeaks release last year.

“I won’t hold my breath for an apology, or for you to call out your puppet masters on the left that fed you BS knowing you would gleefully run with it without ever checking the other side,” President Trump’s eldest son wrote on Twitter after the network was forced to issue a correction.

“Apparently it was just too good a scoop for you to actually do your job. You got played.”

CNN issued a correction of the story on Friday, which read: “CORRECTION: Email to Trump and Trump Jr. from individual offering Wikileaks documents came Sept. 14 — not Sept. 4 — as we reported earlier. Email pointed to docs Trump camp could get publicly.”

In a separate tweet posted hours earlier, Trump Jr. also accused CNN’s sources of “deliberately” misleading the network about the story, resulting in the erroneous claim.

“Does anyone actually believe that CNN’s democratic sources, who had all the info, were not deliberately trying to hide facts that would turn a non-story into their exact BS narrative? No one is that naive!!! I’m sure they wouldn’t lie to cover their prominent source,” he tweeted.

President Trump himself blasted CNN in a series of early morning tweets on Saturday over the corrected report.

“CNN’S slogan is CNN, THE MOST TRUSTED NAME IN NEWS. Everyone knows this is not true, that this could, in fact, be a fraud on the American Public. There are many outlets that are far more trusted than Fake News CNN. Their slogan should be CNN, THE LEAST TRUSTED NAME IN NEWS!” the president wrote.
