Hannity slams NBC News coverage while citing NBC News story in same tweet

Fox News host Sean Hannity faced blowback on social media on Thursday after referring to NBC News as “conspiracy TV” while citing an NBC News report in the same tweet.

“Hey fake news @CNN and conspiracy tv @NBCNews read and learn,” tweeted the conservative Hannity to his 3.18 million followers.

Hannity cited in the tweet an NBC News report titled “Prosecutors ask FBI agents for info on Uranium One deal,” written by three of the network’s reporters.

In a subsequent tweet, Hannity shared a screenshot of MSNBC’s reporting of a news article on the Uranium One deal, which was originally published in The Hill.

The NBC story Hannity shared reports that Attorney General Jeff Sessions and other Justice Department officials have begun asking the FBI to look into a controversial uranium deal linked to Bill and Hillary Clinton.

The blowback on social media against Hannity escalated quickly, including from some NBC and MSNBC producers and on-air hosts.

Hannity often refers to CNN as “fake news CNN” and NBC News as “conspiracy TV” on his prime-time Fox News program.

Hannity has been off from his television and radio program this week leading into the Christmas holiday weekend.
