Hannity offers 2018 preview with ‘EpicFail’ tweet
Sean Hannity offered a preview of what he plans for his program upon his return from vacation next week, tweeting that he will “expose” CNN and NBC News, using the hashtag “#EpicFail.”
“One week from tonight I will expose @CNN and @NBCNews news for #EpicFail. Happy New Year to all irredeemable deplorables. 2018, cling to God Faith Bibles religion,” the Fox News and syndicated radio host wrote to his 3.19 million followers.

Hannity has focused on what he calls “the destroy Trump fake news media” on most nights during his Fox News prime-time opinion program, particularly during his opening monologues that invariably include clips of CNN and MSNBC hosts and pundits going after the president in hyperbolic fashion.{mosads}
The media criticism echoes that of President Trump, who regularly refers to the media as fake news, particularly on social media.
Overall, Trump has written about the media more than any other topic on Twitter since declaring his candidacy, with 993 tweets critical of the press, according to an analysis by the Columbia Journalism Review.
“Over 350 tweets target a news organization, and nearly two-thirds of these tweets were posted during the pre-primary and primary periods,” the publication wrote on Dec. 21.
“The top targets have been The New York Times, which accounts for more than 20 percent of these tweets, and CNN, which accounts for more than 15 percent,” it continues.
“Perhaps surprisingly, Fox News is the third-most targeted organization. Its references came in the pre-primary and primary periods, before the network fell in behind Trump after he secured the GOP nomination.”
Like many cable news hosts this week, Hannity is on vacation the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. He will return to the airwaves on Jan. 2.
The past year has been a good one for the 55-year-old staunch conservative, with his candidate of choice in Trump taking office, his move from 10 p.m. to the more-watched time slot of 9 p.m. and his finish on top of the cable news ratings race following the move, averaging 3.2 million viewers.
