Conway, Cuomo spar on Twitter over claim that ‘nobody’ in Trump WH talks about Hillary Clinton

CNN’s Chris Cuomo and counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway exchanged fire on Twitter the morning after a heated interview during which Conway claimed that “nobody” in the Trump administration talks about Hillary Clinton.

“We don’t care about her. Nobody here talks about her,” Conway told Cuomo in an interview Wednesday night in response to his suggestion that the Trump team is “frozen” in the 2016 election. “Hey, Chris, nobody here talks about Hillary Clinton, I promise you.”

Cuomo jabbed Conway Thursday morning in response to President Trump’s tweet that mentioned the former secretary of State’s emails.

“Hey Kellyanne,” Cuomo wrote. “Good thing no one talks about hrc in the white house. Is ‘nobody’ new potus code name?”

Trump also brought up Clinton, his 2016 Democrat opponent, during a news conference Wednesday in telling a reporter why he thought it was “unlikely” he would be called for an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller’s team investigating Russian election interference.

Conway responded to Cuomo’s tweet, blaming him and other journalists for mentioning Clinton because they “can’t let go” of the election.

“When we are forced to think/talk about [Clinton] it’s because you and your colleagues can’t let go of an election she/you lost. Sad!” Conway tweeted. “Proven further by after a 30-minute interview about policy and accomplishments, HRC is all you and others can say.”

Cuomo fired back again, reiterating that Conway brought up Clinton in their Wednesday interview and adding that she should call him if she has “something to say” about “what matters,” like “Russian hacking.”

“[Easy] enough to see who brought up the election and hrc in this [interview] and who is tweeting about it this morning,” he tweeted. “You are always welcome to discuss what matters. Russian hacking matters to our democracy. Period. And feel free to call me if you have something to say.”
