Dinesh D’Souza is getting slammed by conservatives and liberals alike after mocking student survivors of last week’s Florida high school shooting.

After Florida’s House voted against opening a debate on legislation to ban the sale of assault weapons, an Associated Press photo showed survivors from the school reacting with distress.
“Worst news since their parents told them to get summer jobs,” D’Souza wrote to his 799,000 followers in response to a tweet by an Associated Press reporter.
The backlash was swift and almost universal.
On Wednesday morning, approximately 15 hours after the tweet in question, the conservative filmmaker apologized for being “insensitive to students who lost friends in a terrible tragedy.”
The documentarian of “2016: Obama’s America” and “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party” was sentenced to five years of probation in 2014 after pleading guilty to violating federal campaign finance laws, which is a felony.
