Fox’s Bartiromo: Trump needs ‘to be careful about calling out individual companies’ like Amazon
Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo is cautioning President Trump “to be careful about calling out individual companies” like Amazon, adding during a Tuesday interview on FBN’s sister network that “there is risk.”
“The amount of interest right now that is in this economy and how it goes with the confluence of a president who is very active in these hi-tech flyers along the way and they’re coming to a head. What happens with the Amazon deal?” asked anchor Bill Hemmer on Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom.”
“For starters … I think the president has to be careful about calling out individual companies, number one,” replied Bartiromo.
“Having said that, I do think that there is an issue about dominance. Every industry is getting afraid of big bad Amazon because it’s coming in and disrupting that industry, whether it’s grocery stores or health care, insurance and beyond, [such as] media,” she continued.
“So I think this president has shown us that he doesn’t like dominance, whether it be dominance in terms of this AT&T-Time Warner deal, and trying to scrutinize that to see if they’ll have a dominant position on media, and Amazon,” she added, referring to the proposed merger of media giants.
“I think there is risk in the president calling out individual companies,” she concluded. “I don’t think anybody wants to see that.”
Since March 28, Amazon has lost approximately $60 billion in market value as the president has attacked the company on Twitter.
“I am right about Amazon costing the United States Post Office massive amounts of money for being their Delivery Boy. Amazon should pay these costs (plus) and not have them bourne by the American Taxpayer. Many billions of dollars. P.O. leaders don’t have a clue (or do they?)!” he tweeted on Tuesday.

“Only fools, or worse, are saying that our money losing Post Office makes money with Amazon. THEY LOSE A FORTUNE, and this will be changed,” Trump tweeted Monday. “Also, our fully tax paying retailers are closing stores all over the country…not a level playing field!”

“The Failing N.Y. Times reports that ‘the size of the company’s lobbying staff has ballooned,’ and that does not include the Fake Washington Post, which is used as a ‘lobbyist’ and should so REGISTER,” Trump tweeted on Saturday in reference to The Washington Post, which was acquired by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos for $250 million in 2013.
While we are on the subject, it is reported that the U.S. Post Office will lose $1.50 on average for each package it delivers for Amazon. That amounts to Billions of Dollars. The Failing N.Y. Times reports that “the size of the company’s lobbying staff has ballooned,” and that…
