Roger Stone, Alex Jones to speak at National Press Club

Informal Trump adviser Roger Stone and InfoWars host Alex Jones will speak at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.

Jones will give remarks and take part in a question-and-answer session about the defamation lawsuits filed against him for false comments he made on his show.

The event, titled “Alex Jones Invades the Swamp,” will include a number of InfoWars staff, including Stone, a contributing editor, discussing what they call the  “anti-free speech lawsuits and the ongoing censorship of independent press.”

Jones has been the focus of a number of defamation lawsuits, the latest for falsely describing a Massachusetts man as being a suspect in the Parkland, Fla., school shooting in February that left 17 people dead.

Another lawsuit came after he wrongly accused the man who recorded the video of the vehicle attack during the far-right rally in Charlottesville, Va., last year of being a “deep state shill” and “CIA asset.”

He also was sued by the yogurt company Chobani for false statements accusing one of the company’s factories in Idaho — which employs refugees — of being connected to a 2016 sexual assault of a child and a rise in tuberculosis.

He had promoted the false report on Twitter with the headline “Idaho Yogurt Maker Caught Importing Migrant Rapists.”

Stone has also been under scrutiny in recent days after inconsistencies prompted new questions about whether he had been in contact with WikiLeaks during the 2016 election.
