Tomi Lahren on drink being thrown at her: ‘These things embarrass and humiliate me’

Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren said that having a drink thrown at her in a Minneapolis restaurant was “humiliating.”

“I think people forget I’m a real person and these things embarrass and humiliate me, and especially for my family, I didn’t want them to be part of this,” Lahren said. “It’s something I have grown used to. Not something I wanted to subject them to.”

Video obtained by TMZ shows Lahren confronting a woman who threw a glass of water at her while Lahren and her family were leaving a restaurant. The incident was reportedly unprovoked.

Lahren appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show Wednesday, saying the incident encouraged her to continue speaking out.

“I have a following made up in large part by young girls. I hope they’ll look at this, especially conservative girls and realize if I can handle this with grace, they can to and never be discouraged from having a voice,” Lahren said.

Hannity told her she had no reason to be humiliated because a “jackass, coward, gutless, spineless extremist” threw the drink at her.

“This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. It’s not the first time something physically happened to me,” Lahren said. “I usually ignore it. I would have ignored this too if the video wasn’t leaked.”

President Trump on Wednesday praised Lahren, tweeting “Everybody is with Tomi Lahren, a truly outstanding and respected young woman!”

Many other social media users also came to Lahren’s defense after the incident, including liberal comedian Kathy Griffin.

“I couldn’t disagree more with Tomi Lahren, but I don’t think it’s cool to resort to physical actions to make your point,” Griffin tweeted. “The first amendment is a beautiful thing — use it.”
