MSNBC’s Scarborough, Brzezinski knock Trump over ‘facelift’ comments
MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski slammed President Trump on Wednesday after he mentioned a rumored “facelift” when bashing media speculation about first lady Melania Trump.
Trump lashed out at the media in tweets over speculation surrounding the first lady’s whereabouts following her kidney surgery last month. The first lady was expected to make her first public appearance this week following the May 14 surgery.

“The Fake News Media has been so unfair, and vicious, to my wife and our great First Lady, Melania,” Trump tweeted. “During her recovery from surgery they reported everything from near death, to facelift, to left the W.H. (and me) for N.Y. or Virginia, to abuse. All Fake, she is doing really well!”

The “Morning Joe” co-hosts quickly fired back at Trump, noting that he had mocked Brzezinski last year, saying she was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” when he saw her once at his Florida resort.
“I agree that it would be ‘vicious’ and ‘unfair’ to lie about a loved one having a facelift for the purpose of causing pain and embarrassment,” Scarborough tweeted Wednesday, adding, “can you imagine anyone would be so cruel to do such a thing?”

“I can’t even imagine,” Brzezinski added in her own tweet.

Trump’s attack on Brzezinski last year, in which he bashed her show’s ratings and called her “low I.Q. Crazy Mika,” prompted bipartisan denunciations at the time, with several Republican lawmakers calling it “beneath the dignity” of the White House and “not okay.”
An NBC spokesman at the time said it was “beneath my dignity” to respond to Trump’s attacks.
The “Morning Joe” hosts have feuded with Trump in the past, criticizing a number of his moves as president.
