CNN host chokes up discussing Anthony Bourdain’s death
CNN’s Kate Bolduan broke into tears on Friday as she discussed news that one of her colleagues at the network, chef and writer Anthony Bourdain, had died.
Speaking to chef Marc Murphy and Michael Ruhlman, a friend of Bourdain, Bolduan became emotional as she reported on the “Parts Unknown” host’s apparent suicide.
“He would talk about his young daughter. We both have young kids. I mean — today I …” Bolduan said, choking up with tears. “How do you wrap your heart and your mind around that?”

Bourdain, who joined CNN in 2013 as a host of its signature travel show “Parts Unknown,” was found dead on Friday morning in his hotel room in France, where he was filming an episode of his show.
CNN reported that the cause of death was suicide.
Bourdain made a name for himself as a chef and writer, before beginning a career as a travel show host, first on the Travel Channel and later on CNN.
