Hannity: I’d ‘love’ for Palin to challenge Murkowski
Fox News host Sean Hannity on Tuesday called for former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to make a “political comeback” and challenge Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
Hannity made the remarks on his radio show on Tuesday following reports that the Alaska Republican Party is considering reprimanding Murkowski for not voting to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. She was the only GOP senator not to back President Trump’s second high court pick.
{mosads}“There’s a little bit of payback I see for Senator Lisa Murkowski,” Hannity said. “The GOP in Alaska apparently is going to either reprimand or totally disavow Lisa Murkowski.”
“I tell you, the one person I’d love in Alaska to run against her would be Sarah Palin,” he continued. “Maybe Governor Palin could make a political comeback. I think the people there would like that a lot.”
Alaska Republican officials said Monday that the party may issue a statement or withdraw its support for Murkowski, asking her not to run for reelection as a Republican.
Palin appeared to suggest a challenge to Murkowski in a tweet last week.
“I can see 2022 from my house,” Palin tweeted at the senator, citing the next year she faces reelection.
Palin had indicated last month, however, that she and her husband, Todd Palin, were considering leaving Alaska.
