Scarborough predicts Trump will ‘cash out’ and not run in 2020

MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough is predicting that President Trump will “cash out” and not run for reelection.

Speaking to Stephen Colbert on CBS’s “The Late Show” Thursday, Scarborough said he was “dead serious” in thinking Trump would not run again.

“He didn’t want to be elected president, he didn’t think he was going to be elected president, he didn’t even think he was going to get the Republican nomination,” he said.

{mosads}Colbert had asked Scarborough, who was joined by his co-host Mika Brzezinski, who they thought would challenge Trump in 2020.

Colbert said he thinks Trump will run again, if only to give voters a chance to “correct themselves,” he joked.

“If Donald Trump doesn’t run he takes away that corrective action of history and therefore his presidency is whole and unjudged if he just doesn’t run again,” Colbert said.

This is not the first time Scarborough has predicted that Trump will not run again.

In an interview last week, he said if outgoing U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley decided to run in 2020, Trump would not.

In April, Scarborough predicted Haley would defeat Trump in the GOP primary if he did seek reelection.

Trump used to be a frequent guest on Scarborough and Brzezinski’s show early in his campaign before their relationship soured.

Trump has been critical of the show since the falling out.
