Another suspicious package mailed to CNN

A suspicious package addressed to CNN was intercepted in Atlanta Monday morning, the news network announced.

CNN President Jeff Zucker said in a statement that the package was intercepted at an Atlanta post office near the CNN Center.

Zucker noted that all mail is currently being screened off-site, so the offices were not in imminent danger.

{mosads}An explosive device was mailed to CNN’s New York offices last week on the same day that a number of others were sent to prominent Democrats, including former President Obama and Bill and Hillary Clinton, and other prominent figures whom President Trump frequently criticizes.

Two packages were addressed to CNN’s New York headquarters, one to former CIA Director John Brennan and another to James Clapper, the former national director of intelligence.

Both have been critical of President Trump.

Authorities arrested Cesar Sayoc Jr. last week, charging him with sending the mail bombs.

Law enforcement officials also seized a van belong to Sayoc that was covered in political stickers appearing to be pro-Trump. One of the stickers featured the slogan “CNN Sucks.”

Trump condemned the mail bombs and denounced political violence, but has continued to levy harsh criticism against the media and CNN in particular in the wake of the bombs.

Just hours before CNN announced the suspicious package in Atlanta, Trump tweeted that the “Fake News” is the “true Enemy of the People” and blamed the media for causing “great anger” in the country.
