Fox CEO rips activists outside Carlson home as ‘reprehensible’

Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott criticized a crowd of activists who shouted insults outside network host Tucker Carlson’s home on Wednesday night, calling their behavior “reprehensible” and urging a more “civil, respectful, and inclusive national conversation.”

A group of left-wing demonstrators chanting “racist scumbag leave town” descended on Carlson’s home in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night, leading Carlson’s wife to call the police.

{mosads}A group called “Smash Racism DC” that describes itself as an “Antifa” or “anti-fascist” group took credit for the demonstration, according to a report by CNN.

In tweets that have since been taken offline after its Twitter account was suspended, the group warned that Carlson and his family, which includes four children, “were not safe” while adding “we know where you sleep at night!”

“BREAKING. Activists ring doorbell, hold protest at the Washington D.C. area home of @TuckerCarlson, racist, sexist, bigoted FOX News personality. So far no one has opened the door,” one tweet said.

When police arrived on the scene, they found about 20 people outside Carlson’s house, according to CNN.

“The incident that took place at Tucker’s home last night was reprehensible,” Scott said in a statement. “The violent threats and intimidation tactics toward him and his family are completely unacceptable. 

“We as a nation have become far too intolerant of different points of view,” Scott, who was named CEO of the network in May, continued. “Recent events across our country clearly highlight the need for a more civil, respectful, and inclusive national conversation. Those of us in the media and in politics bear a special obligation to all Americans, to find common ground.” 

Carlson told The Washington Post in a Thursday interview that the people who showed up at his home weren’t protesting, but threatening his family. 

“It wasn’t a protest. It was a threat,” Carlson said. “They weren’t protesting anything specific that I had said. They weren’t asking me to change anything. They weren’t protesting a policy or advocating for legislation.”

“They were threatening me and my family and telling me to leave my own neighborhood in the city that I grew up in.”  

Smash Racism DC also chased Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and his wife out of a D.C. restaurant in September.
