Kilmeade targets Youngkin over ‘epic failure’ in Virginia

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade took a shot at Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) on Wednesday after a rough night for his party in Tuesday’s elections.

“What an epic failure by Gov. Youngkin,” Kilmeade said on his morning show. “This is a huge loss for him, who everyone looked at — if not in 24, which I thought was a long shot — definitely 28.”

Democrats won full control of the Statehouse in Richmond this week, dealing a major blow to the GOP ahead of the coming 2024 elections.

Virginia’s off-year elections were widely viewed as a political bellwether for the mood of the country, with issues such as abortion rights, crime and the state of the economy ranking high on voters priority lists.

Youngkin is seen as a rising star in the post-Trump Republican party, with some political observers and pundits suggesting he could make a viable candidate for the presidency. As the “Fox & Friends” host expressed Wednesday, though, Youngkin’s reputation took a hit due to the disappointing election results.
