Chuck Todd says Biden ‘needs to stop feeling sorry for himself’

NBC’s Chuck Todd said Joe Biden “needs to stop feeling sorry for himself or trying to figure out what’s next” if he wants to get in the Democratic presidential race.

In an interview on MSNBC, Todd said Biden needs to quit waffling and standing on the sidelines as his camp deals with allegations from a number of women that Biden touched them inappropriately.

{mosads}”If Joe Biden wants to be president of the United States, he needs to stop hand-wringing,” said Todd, who also serves as NBC News political director. “He needs to stop feeling sorry for himself or trying to figure out what’s next. … Just do something. Decide. If you’ve got something to say, say it.

“Stop waffling on the sidelines,” Todd added. “Make a decision and get in.”

Biden appeared to come to the same conclusion as Todd.

In a two-minute video posted on Twitter on Wednesday, Biden said he would be “more mindful about respecting personal space” in the future.

“Social norms are changing,” Biden said in a tweet accompanied by the video. “I understand that, and I’ve heard what these women are saying.”

“Politics to me has always been about making connections, but I will be more mindful about respecting personal space in the future. That’s my responsibility and I will meet it,” he added.
