Bill Maher pokes fun at Fox News spelling error

HBO host Bill Maher on Friday poked at Fox News for a series of spelling errors, telling the network to “learn the f—ing language” if they’re going to live in the U.S.

The liberal comedian and “Real Time” host tore into the “mean attitude” on the morning show “Fox & Friends,” mentioning the recent incorrect graphic that referred to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras as “3 Mexican countries.”

He also noted Fox News once misspelled “selfie” during a 2014 report on selfies and had a blunder in a separate chyron from 2014“They even misspelled ‘spelling bee’ — that’s true.”

“You know what, if you guys are going to live in the United States, learn the f—ing language, OK?” the host added to applause.{mosads}

“Fox & Friends Weekend” apologized last month for displaying the graphic that referred to three Latin American nations as “3 Mexican countries.”

The misspelling came shortly after the State Department announced that the U.S. will no longer provide foreign assistance to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, the so-called Northern Triangle countries in Latin America.

Critics took to Twitter to mock the show over the blunder. The show later issued an on-air correction and apology, saying the graphic was “inaccurate” and that the funding was being cut from “three Central American countries.”
