NewsNation to expand weekend programming with hire of Hena Doba
Cable news channel NewsNation has hired journalist Hena Doba as it expands its weekend programming and makes changes to its weekday lineup.
Doba’s new show “Morning in America,” will debut Saturday, Jan. 27 and air Saturdays and Sundays from 7-10 a.m.
On Jan. 22, the network will debut a new weekday lineup, with the weekday edition of “Morning in America” transitioning to a three-hour program with solo anchor Markie Martin from 6 to 9 a.m., followed by “NewsNation Live” with Marni Hughes from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The network also said “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” will move to an earlier time slot at 5 p.m. followed by “The Hill” with moderator Blake Burman at 6 p.m.
“We are excited to debut our new weekend morning show along with an enhanced daytime lineup to fill out our 24 hour/7 day-a-week schedule in 2024,” said Michael Corn, NewsNation’s President of News, in a statement announcing the changes. “This programming is another big milestone for the network as we continue to build a best-in-class news organization.”
NewsNation is owned by Nexstar Media Group, which also owns The Hill.
