MSNBC host Joy Reid was heard on her nightly show Monday dropping an f-bomb during a segment on President Biden’s achievements and the opposition he faces from Republicans in Congress.
As she played clips from a recent Biden speech in South Carolina, Reid was heard saying “starting another f‑‑‑in’ war.”
Reid’s f-bomb was first highlighted by Mediaite.
It was not immediately clear what specifically Reid was referring to, and a representative for MSNBC declined to comment on the remark.
Biden is currently weighing how to respond to a drone strike by an Iranian proxy group over the weekend that killed three U.S. service members in Jordan.
Toward the end of the broadcast, Reid addressed the profanity she used on air.
“Before we go, I just want to apologize very quickly. I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know, we try to keep this show very PG-13, so I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my ‘behind-the-scenes’ chatter,” she said. “I deeply, deeply apologize for that.”
In the clip that was playing when Reid made the comment, Biden was calling on Congress to pass a border bill. Republicans demanded immigration reform as part of Biden’s supplemental spending request to support Ukraine and Israel, but talks appear to be stalling out amid opposition from former President Trump.
