Fox Business names Lauren Petterson new president, replacing Brian Jones

Lauren Petterson has been named president of Fox Business Network, replacing Brian Jones, according to an announcement from Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott on Thursday.

“I’m thrilled to take on this new, challenging role at a pivotal time in business news and look forward to working with such a dedicated and talented staff both on and off the air,” Petterson said in a Thursday announcement.

{mosads}Prior to her promotion to Fox Business president, Petterson served as senior vice president of morning programming and talent development for Fox News, where she for the last 11 years oversaw the “Fox & Friends” franchise, which ranked No. 1 in its time slot over its cable news competitors during her tenure. Petterson added the talent development role in 2016. She will report directly to Scott.

“Lauren has extraordinary skills in developing programming and working with talent and I am confident she will lead Fox Business to even further success,” Scott said in the announcement.

Jones had overseen the launch of Fox Business in 2007 and has worked for Fox News and Fox Business during his 20-year tenure.

“Brian is a talented executive and a distinguished colleague who built FOX Business and accomplished a great deal during his 20 years of combined service at both [Fox Business] and [Fox News]. We wish him continued success as he embarks on his next chapter,” Scott said of Jones, who will exit the network.

Scott was named CEO of Fox News in May 2018.
