Disney confirms existence of two gay characters on ‘Star Wars Resistance’
Two characters in the Disney animated children’s series, “Star Wars Resistance” are gay, according to company producers of the show.
Executive Producers Brandon Auman, Athena Portillo and Justin Ridge confirmed on the podcast “Coffee With Kenobi” that characters Orka and Flix are a couple, as first flagged by The Guardian newspaper in London.
“I think it’s safe to say they’re an item,” Ridge said. “They’re absolutely a gay couple and we’re proud of that.”

The characters are voiced by actors Bobby Moynihan and Jim Rash.

“I would say, ‘All I can say is when Flix says ‘I love you,’ Orca says ‘I know,’ ” Moynihan said
The line is the same said between iconic Star Wars characters Princess Leia, played by the late Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford’s Han Solo in 1980s film “The Empire Strikes Back.”
